As a trainer, I want to help you reach your fitness potential. That might mean integrating variety and direction in your workouts, holding you accountable and motivated, or teaching you how to create your own exercise routines. My ultimate goal is to equip you with tools needed to take charge of your own health and wellness.
My first exposure to fitness came while completing my B.S in Kinesiology (the study of human movement). I was working part-time as a firefighter, and having studied the effects of heat, dehydration, and oxygen deprivation during intense exercise, I wanted to teach Firefighters how to work more safely and efficiently. After working the local Fire Academy as a Certified Tactical Fitness Instructor, I eventually became the Fitness Program Coordinator for my Department.
After realizing that I was more interested in training Firefighters than actually being one, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach, while I completed a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. I have since expanded my focus to include the more general population, keeping health & fitness education as priority.

My Mission
In order to maintain results you've worked hard for, other trainers or gyms want to keep their clients coming back...forever, which, from the client's perspective, just isn't sustainable. At least that's how I felt when I started working out.
I didn't grow up playing team sports or going to the gym, so I never really had guidance on how to lift weights, run correctly, or manage my weight. It wasn't until I became a Firefighter in my 20's that I had any exposure to traditional fitness training, and believe me, it was a steep learning curve. Because of this, I understand the challenges people face when they want to start exercising correctly, but don't know where to start, or when someone just cant seem to get the results they want, due to lack of knowledge or even motivation. I also understand the challenges that accompany injury, such as fear of re-injury and not being able to do what you love to do.
Through working with me, you'll not only reach your personal fitness goals, you'll be given resources to help you maintain results, including tips on how to design your own workouts and strategies to make healthier eating choices. These resources are meant to enhance your training program and give you the tools to sustain your results, train for new event or job, or teach a friend how to exercise.
